After this he was transferred as the National Secretary of BJP to New Delhi.

In 2001, when Keshubhai Patel was the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, senior BJP leaders chose Modi as the Chief Ministerial candidate.He became the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 and has been re-elected chief minister four times for his work skills.

The fact is that his remarkable and undeniable performance in Gujarat forced him to sit in the top benches of BJP in New Delhi so that he could be posted as the party's Prime Ministerial candidate in the 2014 elections. Along with that, he became the 14th Prime Minister of India in 2014.
